Authentic Italian dining with gourmet food and setting! The grilled calamari appetizer was so tender it cut with a fork. It was seasoned with just the right balsamic and olive oil. Branzino - a Mediterranean favorite of mine was the very best I’ve ever had - whole at the table. Demetri served us, but forgot to mention that a 3% credit card charge is added to the bill; this is a new policy so management must have changed. Additionally, as this was a birthday celebration, we were asked at meal’s end what vehicle we’d like the candle to be used? Key lime pie? I had berries and ice cream at home with a roaring fire, but decided to accept their offer, except we were charged for that vehicle! When asked, he said he go talk to his manager. When paying over $200 for dinner to have $15 added was insulting. He alone could have reversed the charges…Conditions have changed! Beware!!!
We had such an amazing experience. Seven of us had dinner to celebrate two birthdays. Everything was top notch from start to finish. Our waiter from Sardaigne was charming, totally knowledgeable of the menu and his accent was so lovely. The setting is exquisite and perfect for large groups and good conversations. The food was delicious. This is definitely a great place for a celebration.
I had the best pasta of my life here. Our large group all had an incredible time and loved everything we ate.
I’ve been here for dinner many times but today was my first lunch outing. Outstanding!!! They have a smaller version of my favorite veal parm for 2 at lunch and also a delicious veal saltimbocca. The service by John Mario was top notch as was the Italian wine he recommended. Lunch is only on Friday’s but go!
Osteria 177 is a fantastic Italian dining experience. Our waiter, Dimitri, was outstanding—he explained the menu in detail, helped us customize dishes, and clearly knows everything there is to know about the sauces. His knowledge of the old-fashioned bourbons was just as impressive, and the drinks were excellent. The atmosphere was perfect—comfortable, elegant, and quiet enough that you can actually talk and enjoy each other’s company. We were there for over two hours and never once felt rushed. The pacing was spot-on and made for a truly relaxing evening. Overall, it was a great time and an experience we’ll absolutely repeat. Highly recommend.
Excellent dinner at Osteria 177. We had the Ostriche Alla Fiorentina, Polipo Alla Piastra Su Crema di Peperoni Dolci, Caesar Salad, Branzino al Forno, and Cappesante con Agro alla Siciliana, and everything was incredibly good. The baked oysters and grilled octopus were excellent starters, and both seafood entrées were outstanding. The branzino was perfectly cooked, and the sea scallops were just as impressive. The restaurant was very busy, but still surprisingly quiet and comfortable. It has an upscale atmosphere that makes it a great choice for a date night. Service was professional and attentive throughout the meal. There wasn’t a weak dish in anything we ordered, and we would definitely return.

We were visiting friends in Annapolis who suggested this charming Italian restaurant. From the warm welcome on arrival, the lovely pressed white tablecloths, wonderful service, and delicious food, we enjoyed an excellent meal. The bread service is superb, tasty salads, and excellent pasta. Overall it was a very good dining experience.
Phenomenal. I came because I heard it was the best Italian in Annapolis, and it’s true! Our waiter, Dimitri, made fantastic recommendations and was so accommodating all night. He made it so easy for me to be sneaky about the dessert for the special occasions too! The restaurant itself is beautiful, and they gave us the window table in honor of celebrating our friend getting her PhD. The photos of her turned out STUNNING because of the lighting and we just loved people watching all night. Talk about a nice touch! Last but certainly not least, the recommended wines were outstanding. The food was delicious- the chef is the owner so you really can’t go wrong. The Chilean sea bass was so good. Amazing.
My husband and I tried this upscale Italian restaurant for the first time on our birthday, and it did not disappoint. Everything was good from the appetizers to the entree and dessert. We loved the lobster bisque soup and the arancini Di risso. I tried their signature sea bass dish, and it was cooked to perfection; it melts in your mouth. My husband tried their pasta, and it was great! The service was also amazing, shout out to Charlie, who explained the menu well and gave recommendations. We had crème brûlée for our birthday dessert, which was also delicious. We will be back to try their other dishes. This is a perfect place for a date night in downtown Annapolis.
